Welcome to

Solar PV is the fastest-growing source of electricity in human history — and the first energy technology in a century that ordinary people can own. A power station needs a government. A wind farm needs a developer. A solar panel needs a roof and a decision.

This is not a course about getting a job in the industry — there is a Careers & Resources page for that. It is a course about what solar means for you: as a householder, a tenant, a customer, a neighbour, a voter. The technical chapters are here because the case for acting is only as strong as your grasp of what you are acting on.

Each module is self-contained and takes about 30 minutes. By the end you will be able to work out whether solar makes sense where you live, know what to ask an installer and what a good answer sounds like, see what your street, school or business could build together, and argue the case for the projects that need public backing.
